What I love about my husband Zack...

My husband is incredibly thoughtful, so I thought I would mention a couple of things that I love about him. It's not just because he wrote some incredible things about me either. Other than the fact that he's such a man of God and a heck of a spiritual leader there are some other things.

  • He's spontaneous (He is always surprising me with something.)
  • He gets creative points all of the time because he thinks outside the box.
  • He does random acts of sweetness: I love coming home to some flowers, sweet love notes, or getting some special song over email.
  • He always gives me his attention like last night when I walk in, he's watching a movie and pauses it just to talk to me.
  • How he always makes me feel so special and treasured
  • How he asks me to pray with him
  • When I catch him looking at me sometimes. (I love that)
  • When we're going down the road and he reaches for my hand.
  • His hugs.
  • His elbow of justice with cuddles.
  • His hamburgers and root beer.
  • How in the middle of a movie he'll do push ups.
  • How he's sensitive to me even when I'm in tears.
  • How he's generous and giving to everyone.
  • How he plays the guitar.
  • The fact he loves to mountain bike/be outdoors.
  • When he takes me on a walk with him.
  • His singing/enthusiasm in the car.
  • How he takes care of me.
  • His gentleness with me.

Quick Recap

So, I tried to think of how I could give you a quick snapshot of the last 8 months of our lives. Here it goes. Zack this time last year was in Central Asia, but God is sovereign and he was sent back to his home in Henderson, NC. I on the other hand, was just finishing up seminary wondering what my next steps were going to be. So one day sitting at the dry cleaners I thought about having lunch with Colleen (pastor's wife) at Bob Evans. We're sitting contemplating should we have lunch or breakfast. She was drawing a picture of her house (I'm definitely a visual learner), showing me her grandchildren etc.

Then she asked the old famous question: so what are you going to do after seminary? I told her that I was praying about going overseas again. The next words that came out of her mouth were: "I know this guy"
Then she started talking about Zack at that point and said he was in Afghanistan sharing the Gospel. I thought wow, that's pretty intense but I was not interested (matchmaking is not fun). She said well let me work on that.

Zack and I began corresponding on email. It's important I mention this that Zack pursued me from the beginning. It's biblical and I am so thankful for his leadership even in that. We met on the 4th of July and got engaged on September 15th, 2006.

We had a few trips and exciting adventures over the course of a few months. So, I'm going to include some pictures briefly showing the time elapsed since we've been together. Ok..phew that wasn't too long.

16 Things I Love About My Wife

Her old pink bathrobe that she loves to wear.

Her unexplainable passion for chick flicks -- and the education I've received in this realm since we've been together.

The way she looks when she wakes up in the morning.

Watching her sleep -- especially when she cuddles up with her teddy bear.

Her childlike spirit.

Her incredible humility (most of the time).

How she looks most beautiful with no makeup at all.

The fact that she's REALLY ticklish.

The way she supports me.

Her gentleness.

How she can recall minute details from movies that she hasn't seen in years.

How she cares about people.

How she couldn't tell me a lie if her life depended on it.

The fact that she owns more movie soundtracks than I own movies.

Her passion for Bojangles, Starbucks and Arizona green tea.

Gosh I should really stop and work for a while....

Creating this blog with design and flare is kinda intimidating. However, it gives me a great chance to really have fun and see what would look nice. It's nice to have our own little updates as a couple. Everyday I'll check to see what Zack has, but now we both get to tell you what's new with us. Hopefully, it will give more insight to who our Savior is and how He's working in our lives. FUN TIMES!!!! Ok, gotta get back to work.
